Validated Applications:
WB: 1:500 - 1:1,000 dilution
For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed overnight at 37°C. Individual optimization may be required.
For c-Myc, we also offer AbFlex® c-Myc Recombinant Antibody (rAb). For details, see Catalog No. 91213.
Immunogen
This c-Myc antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues 9-22 of human c-Myc; it recognizes a 65 kDa form of c-Myc.
Buffer
PBS containing 0.2% gelatin, 0.01% thimersol and 0.1% sodium azide. Thimersol and sodium azide are highly toxic.
Background
c-Myc is a sequence specific DNA binding transcription factor that regulates gene expression, especially genes involved in cell division. Myc family members contain a basic Helix-Loop-Helix leucine zipper (bHLHZ) domain. Myc family proteins associated with thousands of genes, especially those involved in cell growth and proliferation. Myc serves as an integrator of signal transduction, linking extracellular signals to an acute cellular growth response. Mutations and overexpression of c-Myc are associated with cell proliferation and cancer.
