Applications

ChIP Validated ChIP-Seq Validated Western Blot Validated

Application Notes

Applications Validated by Active Motif:
ChIP: 5 µl per ChIP
ChIP-Seq: 5 µl each
WB: 1:500 - 1:1,000 dilution

ChIP-Seq validation was performed by Active Motif's Epigenetics Services; the complete data set is available in the UCSC Genome Browser by clicking here.

For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at 4°C. The addition of 0.1% Tween 20 to all blocking solutions may also reduce background. Individual optimization may be required.

Published Applications

The following applications have been published using this antibody. Unless noted above, Active Motif may not have validated the antibody for use in these applications:

Immunogen

This FOXG1 antibody was raised against a peptide within the C-terminal region of human FOXG1.

Buffer

Purified IgG in 70 mM Tris (pH 8), 105 mM NaCl, 31 mM glycine, 0.07 mM EDTA, 30% glycerol and 0.035% sodium azide. Sodium azide is highly toxic.

FOXG1 antibody (pAb) tested by ChIP-Seq.
ChIP was performed using the ChIP-IT® High Sensitivity Kit (Cat. No. 53040) with 30 ug of mouse whole brain chromatin and 2 µl of antibody. ChIP DNA was sequenced on the Illumina HiSeq and 20 million sequence tags were mapped to identify FOXG1 binding sites. The image shows binding across a region of chromosome 4. You can view the complete data set in the UCSC Genome Browser, starting at this specific location, here.

FOXG1 antibody (pAb) tested by Western blot.
Detection of Goosecoid by Western blot analysis. Lane 1: Whole-cell extract of Hek 293 cells (40 µg). Lane 2: Whole-cell extract of Jurkat cells (40 µg).
Both were probed with FOXG1 antibody (pAb) at a 1:500 dilution.

Background

FOXG1 (Forkhead box protein G1, FKH2, FKHL1) is a transcriptional repressor that serves an important role in the development of the brain. FOXG1 is expressed in the neural plate early in development and is involved in the specification, proliferation and differentiation of the telencephalon. FOXG1 is also essential for proper patterning of the eye and development of the olfactory epithelium.

Chromatin IP Assays

This antibody has been validated for use in ChIP and/or ChIP-Seq, and can be used with Active Motif's ChIP-IT® High Sensitivity Kit or our magnetic bead-based ChIP-IT® Express Kits.
