Background

Active Motif biotinylated histone peptides are suitable for use in a variety of binding, pull-down and enzymatic assays for the study of proteins that interact with histones and that read, write or erase histone modifications.

Application Notes

Spin vial briefly in microfuge. Reconstitute with sterile distilled water and vortex briefly until resuspended. Aliquot reconstituted peptide to avoid repeated freeze-thawing.

Protein Details

A synthetic peptide derived from Histone H3.1, amino acids 21-44, modified by methylation on lysine 27, with an added lysine residue containing a biotin moiety and a C-terminal amide group (CONH2). C-term biotinylated Lys residue is separated with two Gly (provide short spacer) from the rest of the peptide sequence. Accurate UV quantification is done based on internal Tyr. The presence of the lysine residue is for quantitation and does not affect peptide functionality.

Peptide Sequence: ATKAAR-Kme-SAPSTGGVKKPHRYRPG-GGK(Biotin)-NH2
